The tournament kicks off with hosts Sri Lanka taking on Zimbabwe at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, while 2022 finalists England will square off against Scotland at the Colombo Cricket Club. Meanwhile, New Zealand and Nepal will face each other at the P. Sara Oval. The 15th edition of the competition introduces some notable changes to the format. Unlike previous editions, the top three teams from each group will progress to a newly introduced Super Six stage. This stage will further consist of two groups, with each team playing two matches against sides from the opposing Super Six group. For example, the top-placed team in Group A will face the second and third-placed teams in Group D, and vice versa. Following this, the top two teams from each Super Six group will qualify for the semi-finals, which are scheduled for January 30 and February 1, leading up to the grand finale on February 4.
