BCCI Annual Contracts Announced for Team India; Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma stay in A+ category, KL Rahul demoted

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Annual Player Contracts for the Senior Men’s Team India for the 2022-23 season today.

There are four categories in the contract structure: A+ with a yearly remuneration of INR 7 crore, and A, B, and C, valued at INR 5 crore, INR 3 crore, and INR 1 crore, respectively.

Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah remain in the Grade A+ category, while Ravindra Jadeja has been added to this elite group.

In contrast, Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel have been promoted from Grades C and B to Grade A, joining Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Rishabh Pant, and Patel in the INR 5 crore category.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ajinkya Rahane, however, have been removed from the annual contracts list.

KL Rahul has been demoted to Grade B, which now includes Cheteshwar Pujara, Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shubhman Gill. Sanju Samson, who received his first contract, joins Grade C, featuring Umesh Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan, Shardul Thakur, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Samson, Arshdeep Singh, and KS Bharat.
