New Zealand have made a key squad change ahead of the upcoming T20I tri-series in Zimbabwe, bringing in experienced wicketkeeper-batter Devon Conway to replace the injured Finn Allen. The series will feature Zimbabwe, South Africa, and New Zealand, with matches scheduled from July 14 to July 26.
Allen sustained a foot injury while playing in the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) tournament in the United States. Following his return to New Zealand, he will undergo further medical consultation to determine a recovery plan. Head coach Rob Walter expressed his disappointment at Allen’s unavailability, saying the team was excited to see Allen carry his MLC form into the international arena but acknowledged injuries are part of the game. Walter added that the team is fortunate to have a player of Devon Conway’s caliber ready to step in.
