
Gujarat Titans have officially kickstarted their preparations for the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 with a pre-season training camp in Surat. According to a statement released by the franchise on Monday, several players and coaching staff have already joined the camp to fine-tune their skills ahead of the much-anticipated tournament, which begins on March 23.
Among the players attending the camp are wicketkeeper-batter Anuj Rawat, veteran pacer Ishant Sharma, all-rounders Mahipal Lomror and Jayant Yadav, as well as youngsters Kumar Kushagra and Arshad Khan. The Titans’ management aims to get an early start in shaping the team’s strategy for the season, with the squad comprising both seasoned campaigners and rising stars.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently confirmed that the IPL 2025 season will begin on March 23. BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla made the announcement during a Special General Meeting (SGM) held in Mumbai on Sunday.
“IPL is going to start from March 23,” Shukla told reporters, putting an end to speculation about the tournament’s start date.
The mega auction, held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, saw all 10 franchises finalize their squads ahead of the season. With the player auctions concluded, teams have started their pre-season preparations to gear up for what promises to be another exciting edition of the IPL.
The previous IPL season, IPL 2024, began on March 22 with a match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings. The season concluded with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lifting the trophy after an emphatic victory in the final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 26.
KKR will enter IPL 2025 as the defending champions. As the countdown to the new season begins, fans eagerly await high-octane action and thrilling contests from the world’s most popular T20 league.
Meanwhile, Shukla also confirmed that the venues for the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) have been finalized and will be announced soon.
