IND vs WI 3rd T20: Surya Kumar Yadav and Tilak Varma Shine as India Secures Thrilling 7-Wicket Win

Surya Kumar Yadav’s masterful innings and Tilak Varma’s unbeaten heroics propelled India to a captivating 7-wicket victory over West Indies in the third T20 International at the Providence Stadium on Tuesday. With this win, India secured their first victory in the five-match T20I series, which the West Indies currently lead 2-1.

Surya Kumar Yadav’s blazing knock of 83 off 44 deliveries laid the foundation for India’s chase of 160 runs, while India’s captain, Hardik Pandya, put the finishing touches on the match with a stylish maximum. The victory showcased India’s fighting spirit and determination in the face of a challenging target.

India’s chase faced an early setback when debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal was removed from the pitch with just 1 run to his name, falling prey to Obed McCoy’s delivery. However, Surya Kumar Yadav and Tilak Varma stepped up, forming an impressive partnership that added 87 runs to the scoreboard. Although Surya Kumar couldn’t see the innings through, Hardik Pandya’s brief but impactful cameo ensured India’s triumph, bringing the series to a tantalizing 2-1 scoreline in favor of the West Indies.

West Indies had earlier opted to bat first and got off to a solid start with openers Kyle Mayers and Brandon King steadily accumulating runs against the Indian bowlers. Axar Patel’s spin, however, proved to be the turning point as he dismissed Mayers for 25 runs in the 8th over. Kuldeep Yadav’s spin tactics further troubled the West Indies lineup, claiming the crucial wickets of Johnson Charles and the dangerous Nicholas Pooran.

Despite Brandon King’s notable 42-run contribution and Rovman Powell’s explosive innings towards the end, West Indies managed to post a competitive total of 159/5 on the scoreboard. Kuldeep Yadav finished with three wickets, while Axar Patel and Mukesh Kumar chipped in with one wicket each.
