The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a behind-the-scenes video of the high-energy session on social media, showcasing players like Harshit Rana, Prasidh Krishna, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Virat Kohli working closely with fielding coach T Dilip. The drills emphasized accuracy, reflexes, and team coordination, with Dilip explaining the setup: “We will start with team fielding in covers, mid-off, mid-on, and short mid-wicket. The mid-on fielder will back up and return the ball to the designated target.”
The session also included reflex-catching drills, target-hitting exercises, and celebrations to keep energy levels high. “Hitting the target. Reflex catching. Celebrations. Energy levels running high!” the BCCI captioned the video, giving fans a glimpse of the team’s rigorous preparations.
While India has the upper hand following their comprehensive first-Test performance led by Jasprit Bumrah’s outstanding bowling and captaincy, the Adelaide Test also brings a chance to exorcise the ghosts of their infamous 2020 pink-ball match at the same venue. In that game, India was bowled out for their lowest Test score of 36, with Australian bowlers Pat Cummins (4/21) and Josh Hazlewood (5/8) wreaking havoc.
