The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), India’s pioneering tennis-ball T10 cricket tournament, is set to kick off its much-anticipated second season at the Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane on Sunday. The tournament, known for its unique format and high-energy matches, promises an even bigger spectacle this year, blending cricket with entertainment over 21 action-packed days.
ISPL Season 2 will feature 34 matches, with six teams competing in a round-robin format. Each team will face the other five teams twice during the league stage before advancing to the playoffs, which will include a Qualifier, Eliminator 1, Eliminator 2, and a Final.

The tournament also brings a mix of sports and entertainment, with live performances by renowned artists scheduled throughout the event. With this unique combination, ISPL Season 2 aims to captivate audiences and redefine street cricket in India.
The league is helmed by a distinguished leadership team, including cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, along with Ashish Shelar, Minal Amol Kale, and League Commissioner Suraj Samat. Their vision and guidance are expected to elevate ISPL’s standing as a premier tennis-ball cricket league.
The ISPL’s unique format features T10 matches, with each team allotted 10 overs per inning. A bowler can bowl a maximum of two overs. The league also introduces strategic power play rules:
- Mandatory Bowling Power Play: The first two overs of each inning, allowing only two fielders outside the 30-yard circle.
- Batting Power Play: A one-over phase between the 6th and 8th overs, during which a maximum of three fielders can be outside the 30-yard circle.
Adding to the excitement is the use of the ISPL Tape Ball, a modified tennis ball wrapped with tightly stretched tape to create a smooth surface. This innovation increases the ball’s pace after bouncing, adding a unique dimension to the game.
