Men’s Asia Cup 2025 To Be Held In UAE; ACC

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has confirmed that the Men’s Asia Cup 2025 will be staged in the United Arab Emirates from September 9 to 28, according to ACC President and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. The tournament will be played in the T20I format and feature eight teams.

The competition includes five full ACC members — India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan — along with UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong. Group A comprises India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman, while Group B features Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong.

The tournament will begin with Afghanistan facing Hong Kong on September 9. India starts their campaign against UAE on September 10, followed by the much-anticipated clash with Pakistan on September 14. India will conclude their group stage against Oman on September 19. The top two teams from each group will move into the Super 4 stage, with the final scheduled for September 28.

While India is the official host for this edition, the tournament will be played at a neutral venue under a three-year agreement between the BCCI and PCB, which ensures India and Pakistan compete at neutral grounds for events hosted by either nation. This arrangement was first implemented during the Champions Trophy in Pakistan earlier this year, where India played all matches, including the final, in Dubai and emerged as champions.

India are also the defending champions of the Asia Cup, having won the 2023 edition, which was held in Sri Lanka after India declined to travel to Pakistan.

Earlier this year, social media speculations suggested that India might pull out of the 2025 Asia Cup and the Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup due to cross-border tensions. However, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia dismissed these claims as “speculative and imaginary,” confirming India’s participation in both events.
