Pakistan to Send Security Delegation to India for World Cup Venue Inspection

Pakistan is reportedly preparing to send a security delegation to India for a comprehensive inspection of the venues ahead of this year’s World Cup. The delegation’s primary task will be to review the security arrangements and assess the suitability of the designated venues for Pakistan’s matches.

According to Geo News report, the security delegation will make the trip to India after consulting with the Indian Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The itinerary includes visits to several Indian cities, including Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad, contingent on the election of a new chairman by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

An official source within the Inter-Provincial Coordination (Sports) Ministry stated, “The security delegation will go with representation from the PCB to inspect the venues where Pakistan will play and also the security and other arrangements made for them in the World Cup.”

This move comes as part of the standard protocol followed by the cricket board to seek permission from the government before any tour to India. The government typically sends a delegation to inspect the conditions and ensure the safety of the players, officials, fans, and media involved.

During their visit, the delegation will interact with Indian officials, discussing and inspecting the security arrangements and other logistics that will impact the Pakistani contingent during the tournament. The findings of the delegation will be shared with the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), should any concerns arise.
