Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have announced injury replacements ahead of the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025. MI has roped in left-arm spinner Parunika Sisodia as a replacement for Pooja Vastrakar, while RCB has brought in wicketkeeper-batter Nuzhat Parween to fill in for the injured Asha Sobhana.
Vastrakar, who played a crucial role for MI in previous seasons, has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury. In her place, MI has signed Parunika Sisodia, who was previously part of Gujarat Giants in the inaugural edition of WPL. Sisodia made headlines during the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup, where she delivered crucial breakthroughs and was named Player of the Match in the semi-final against England. She joins the MI squad for WPL 2025 at a price of ₹10 lakh.

Meanwhile, RCB has strengthened its squad by signing Nuzhat Parween as a replacement for Asha Sobhana, who will miss the tournament due to injury. Parween, a wicketkeeper-batter from Railways, has represented India in five T20Is and will join RCB at her base price of ₹30 lakh.
The WPL 2025 is set to begin on February 14 and will be played across multiple venues, including Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai. The season opener will feature Gujarat Giants taking on defending champions RCB at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara.
In the previous edition, RCB emerged as the champions after defeating Delhi Capitals by eight wickets in the final. Mumbai Indians finished second in the league standings with 10 points but were knocked out in the playoffs following a narrow five-run loss to RCB.
With these last-minute squad adjustments, both MI and RCB will be aiming for a strong campaign in WPL 2025 as they look to compete for the coveted title.
