After 27 matches in Pakistan Super League, we have our three teams including Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, and Multan Sultans who have already secured their place in playoffs.

Peshawar Zalmi (8 points) and Quetta Gladiators (6 points) are now fighting for the number four position on the PSL points table. Today’s match between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators will be the deciding factor in determining whether Quetta Gladiators qualify for the playoffs or pave the way for Peshawar Zalmi to head into the playoffs this year.

Karachi Kings, who won the PSL in 2020, are out of the playoffs race as they failed to secure enough points to advance. The top four teams on the table advance to the playoffs, and one more team in the remaining three teams will have to qualify for playoffs to play Qualifier, Eliminator 1, Eliminator 2, and Final match.

PSL Points Table Figures Before Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators Match

In Scenario 1, if Quetta Gladiators win against Multan Sultans, then they will equal points with Peshawar Zalmi (8 points each), but it still depends on the run-rate of both teams. If both teams have equal points, then the net run rate will decide the 4th team that will qualify for the PSL playoffs.

In Scenario 2, if Quetta Gladiators lose the match against Multan Sultans, then Quetta Gladiators (6 points) will be out of the playoffs race. In this case, Peshawar Zalmi (8 points) will automatically qualify for the PSL playoffs having more points. Both Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings will end their PSL journey ranked at number 5 and number 6, respectively.
