Punjab Kings Begin IPL 2026 Pre-Season Camp In Abu Dhabi

  • by

Punjab Kings have begun their preparations for the upcoming Indian Premier League season with a pre-season training camp in Abu Dhabi, scheduled to run from February 8 to 14 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. The franchise confirmed the development in an official release, highlighting the team’s focus on early preparation ahead of IPL 2026.

The camp is being attended by several key Indian players, including Yuzvendra Chahal, Shashank Singh, Prabhsimran Singh, Nehal Wadhera, Harpreet Brar, Pyla Avinash, Vishal Nishad, Priyansh Arya, Pravin Dubey and Yash Thakur. The primary emphasis of the camp is on fitness conditioning, match practice and team bonding as the squad looks to build cohesion before the start of the season.

This Abu Dhabi camp follows on from Punjab Kings’ earlier training stint in Udaipur, held from January 16 to 20, which featured a mix of senior and young players. The management believes the continuity of camps will help the squad settle quickly and develop stronger on-field understanding in the lead-up to the tournament.

The Shreyas Iyer-led side heads into IPL 2026 with renewed confidence after a strong campaign last season. Punjab Kings finished as runners-up in IPL 2025, narrowly missing out on the title after losing the final to Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six runs, as RCB clinched their maiden IPL trophy.

During the league stage of the 2025 season, Punjab Kings topped the points table with 19 points from 14 matches. Captain Shreyas Iyer led from the front with the bat, finishing the season with 604 runs. Prabhsimran Singh emerged as the team’s second-highest run-scorer with 549 runs, while Priyansh Arya also impressed with 475 runs over the course of the tournament.

In the bowling department, Arshdeep Singh spearheaded Punjab’s attack with 21 wickets, finishing as the franchise’s leading wicket-taker and placing fifth overall among the highest wicket-takers of the IPL 2025 season.

Punjab Kings will be aiming to go one step further in the 19th edition of the IPL and finally claim their maiden title. Their full IPL 2026 squad includes Shreyas Iyer (Captain), Shashank Singh, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Azmatullah Omarzai, Harnoor Singh Pannu, Harpreet Brar, Lockie Ferguson, Marco Jansen, Marcus Stoinis, Mitch Owen, Musheer Khan, Nehal Wadhera, Prabhsimran Singh, Vishnu Vinod, Priyansh Arya, Pyla Avinash, Suryansh Shedge, Vyshak Vijaykumar, Xavier Bartlett, Yash Thakur, Cooper Connolly, Ben Dwarshuis and Pravin Dubey.
