Addressing the media, Rohit Sharma clarified that there is complete alignment between him and Gambhir on team strategies and decisions. He highlighted that while tactical discussions happen off the field, once the game begins, Gambhir fully trusts the captain’s on-field decisions.

“Both of us are very clear in what we want to do. Gautam Gambhir is someone who, once we enter the field, trusts what the captain is doing. The discussions take place off the field or in the dressing room, but once the game starts, it’s about what I do on the field. That’s the kind of trust we have in each other, and that’s how it should be,” Rohit stated.

Despite a historic victory in the first Test against Australia at Perth, India’s fortunes dwindled as the series progressed. The five-match series ended with a 3-1 win for Australia, reclaiming the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after a decade.
