Reeza Hendricks delivered a masterclass with his maiden T20I century, guiding South Africa to a thrilling 7-wicket victory over Pakistan in the second match at SuperSport Park. This win not only clinched the series for the Proteas but also marked their first T20I bilateral series triumph since August 2022.
Chasing a daunting target of 207 set by Pakistan, South Africa initially faltered, losing Ryan Rickelton (2) and Matthew Breetzke (12) during the powerplay. However, Hendricks took charge, crafting a sensational 157-run partnership with Rassie van der Dussen. His fireworks with the bat, combined with Van der Dussen’s steady seventh T20I half-century, dismantled Pakistan’s formidable bowling attack. Hendricks’ blistering knock ended late in the chase when he holed out to Irfan Khan, but Van der Dussen sealed the win in style, smashing the ball into the stands with three balls to spare.
