
Former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has been signed by the India Champions for the upcoming second edition of the World Championship of Legends (WCL). Dhawan, known for his stylish left-handed batting and dynamic performances, becomes the first player announced for the team’s lineup as they prepare to defend their title in the highly anticipated tournament.
The 2025 season of the WCL is set to begin on July 18, promising fans thrilling cricketing action, marquee players, additional venues, and unforgettable moments on the field. Sumant Bahl, co-owner of the India Champions, expressed his enthusiasm about adding Dhawan to the squad. “Shikhar Dhawan adds a lot of flair and strength to our team as we focus on defending our title from WCL Season 1. We plan to retain some of the greats from last year while bringing in fresh talent to make our team even stronger and better,” Bahl stated in a WCL press release.
