Tiigers of Kolkata gear up for ISPL season 2 with 16 new players

The reigning champions of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), the Tiigers of Kolkata, are set to defend their title with a revamped squad after a successful player auction held in Mumbai on December 11. With a total investment of Rs 97.45 Lakhs, the team has secured 16 players in preparation for Season 2 of this high-energy tennis-ball cricket tournament.

Aspect Sports, the franchise owner of the Tiigers of Kolkata, employed a calculated approach during the auction. The team’s lineup features a blend of rising grassroots talent and seasoned players, with significant investments made in emerging stars from the West Zone to strengthen their roster.

Aksha Kamboj, the Executive Chairperson of Aspect Global Ventures and a driving force behind the Tiigers’ success, expressed her enthusiasm about the newly assembled squad. “The Tiigers of Kolkata represent the hopes and dreams of many grassroots players. Our new squad is a strong mix of talent and determination, ready to take on the challenges of ISPL Season 2. Last season’s success gave us a solid start, and this year, we aim to raise the bar. The Tiigers of Kolkata’s dominance in ISPL Season 1 set a high benchmark, and the team is determined to maintain their position at the top. The blend of fresh talent and experienced players reflects a strategy aimed at long-term success while continuing to inspire and empower players at the grassroots level.

The excitement for ISPL Season 2 kicks off on January 26, 2025, with matches scheduled to take place at the renowned Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane. The tournament will see six competitive teams vying for glory over three weeks, culminating in the grand finale on February 15, 2025.
