Zimbabwe’s national cricket team will face Pakistan A in a six-match ODI series on home soil, as part of their preparations for the upcoming Cricket World Cup Qualifier. With two spots still available for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, Zimbabwe will be keen to perform well in the one-day matches.
The series opener is slated for May 17 at the Takashinga Cricket Club, while the remaining matches will be held at Harare Sports Club on May 19, 21, 23, 25, and 27. Additionally, Zimbabwe will host the Cricket World Cup Qualifier from June 18 to July 9, with matches taking place across four venues in Harare and Bulawayo. The event will feature 10 teams vying for the two remaining spots in the Cricket World Cup in India later this year.
Zimbabwe will be joined by Nepal, Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, Sri Lanka, USA, UAE, West Indies, and either Ireland or South Africa in the Cricket World Cup Qualifier. Pakistan, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, New Zealand, and host India have already secured their places in the main event of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
Ireland has a chance to automatically qualify for the tournament by sweeping their three-match ODI series against Bangladesh in May. The series begins on May 9, with subsequent matches scheduled for May 12 and 14, all at the County Cricket Ground.
