Global T20 Canada Returns after three years with Star-Studded Lineup including Harbhajan, Afridi, Shakib, Gayle and Others

After a long-awaited three-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the highly anticipated Global T20 Canada tournament is set to make a thrilling return. Cricket enthusiasts worldwide are in for a treat as some of the biggest international stars are gearing up to showcase their skills at the Brampton Sports Park.

The tournament, scheduled to commence on July 20, boasts an impressive lineup of cricket legends, including the likes of Harbhajan Singh, Chris Gayle, Shahid Afridi, Chris Lynn, and Shakib-Al-Hasan, among others. Fans are eagerly anticipating the return of these cricketing maestros, who are ready to set the pitch ablaze once again.

In a press release issued by the Global T20 Canada, the league announced that the matches would be played at 1:00 AM and 8:30 PM IST, with the final and Qualifier 2 set to take place at 9:30 PM IST. Cricket enthusiasts from around the world can tune in to witness some exhilarating contests over the course of 18 days, as a total of 25 matches will be played during the tournament.

The competition has undergone a revamp, with six participating teams set to compete for glory. The teams in contention are Brampton Wolves, Vancouver Knights, Montreal Tigers, Surrey Jaguars, Toronto Nationals, and Mississauga Panthers. Each team comprises 16 players from various full and associate nations. The squad makeup includes two world-renowned marquee players, three Canadian National team players, and three emerging Canadian cricketers, ensuring a diverse and competitive roster.

Brian Lara, the League Ambassador for Global T20 Canada, expressed his excitement about the upcoming schedule, praising the fantastic lineup of all six teams. He was particularly thrilled with the presence of cricketing powerhouses such as Harbhajan Singh, Mohammad Rizwan, Shakib-Al-Hasan, Shahid Afridi, and Chris Gayle. Lara encouraged fans to witness mesmerizing cricket and enjoy the spectacle that is about to unfold.
