PAK vs AFG: Shadab Khan and Team off to UAE for Afghanistan T20 Series

The Pakistani men’s cricket team has set off for UAE to face Afghanistan in a T20 international series, which is set to begin this week on March 24 in Sharjah.

Departing from the National Cricket Academy today, the team boarded a 4pm flight on the national carrier. The three-match series, marking the first bilateral contest between the neighboring countries, will take place in Sharjah on March 24, 26, and 27.

However, due to personal reasons, Mohammad Yousuf will not accompany the team to the UAE. In his absence, head coach Abdul Rehman will assume the role of batting coach.

The contingent consists of 14 players and nine support staff members. Naseem Shah, who is already in Dubai, will meet up with the team at their hotel today.

Earlier, Afghanistan Cricket Board announced 17-members squad under the captaincy of Rashid Khan. Newcomer Sediqullah Atal, the left-handed opener, has been included in the squad and could potentially make his debut in this series.

Additionally, experienced all-rounder Mohammad Nabi, who captained Afghanistan during last year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, returns to the team.
