Pakistan’s Batting Sensation Saim Ayub impressed with Virat Kohli attitude

The young and talented Pakistani cricketer Saim Ayub has recently expressed his admiration for Indian cricket star Virat Kohli. He praised Kohli’s unwavering work ethic and professionalism, even when faced with challenges and setbacks.

The 20-year-old made a name for himself with his exceptional performance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) where he had scored 341 runs in 12 matches of PSL 8, at a strike rate of 165.53 and also scored five half-centuries with 17 sixes in the event.

Talking about his recent performance and his inspiration in a YouTube podcast, Saim was all praise for Indian star batsman Virat Kohli. When the host asked about his favorite player on the Indian cricket team, Ayub singled out Kohli’s attitude as the most attractive quality.

“I have to say, when it comes to the Indian cricket team, it’s Virat Kohli all the way. His attitude is what really I like the most,” the left-handed batsman said.

Ayub acknowledged the skills and talents of other players but emphasized his deep admiration for Kohli’s mindset and his attitude. He aspires to adopt Kohli’s approach when dealing with tough times in his own career, staying true to his principles and maintaining a positive attitude even in the face of failure.

“Even though he had been performing consistently for three years, he found it hard to live up to the high expectations he had set for himself,” the young player observed. He added that Kohli’s dedication to continuous improvement, despite adversity, was truly inspiring.

Ayub, an all-rounder who has represented Pakistan’s Under-19 team and captained the Under-16 squad, was selected for the National team following his standout performances in both the domestic cricket and the recently concluded PSL.

Earlier, Saim hoped to be popular as an aggressive left-hand batter, just like former Test cricketer Saeed Anwar.

Saim Ayub is part of the Pakistan squad against New Zealand T20 and ODI series starting from April 14.
