Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar celebrated his 50th birthday, marking half a century of life. Throughout his two-decade career, Tendulkar, known as the ‘Master Blaster,’ demonstrated exceptional skills and technique, leaving fans captivated with his stunning batting performances from 1989 to 2013.

Sachin Tendulkar, a right-handed batter, earned the title ‘Master Blaster’ due to his ability to decimate any bowling attack. In his 664 international appearances, he scored a record-breaking 34,357 runs at an average of 48.52, with 100 centuries and 164 half-centuries under his belt. Tendulkar remains the only player to achieve a century of centuries.

As the highest run-scorer in both One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and Test matches, Tendulkar’s impressive stats include 18,426 ODI runs with an average of 44.83, 49 centuries, and 96 half-centuries, as well as 15,921 Test runs with an average of 53.78, 51 centuries, and 68 fifties. Tendulkar’s illustrious career includes being part of the Indian team that won the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. Having made his World Cup debut in 1992, Tendulkar’s dream of winning the prestigious trophy was realized in 2011 when India defeated Sri Lanka in the final by six wickets.

Tendulkar’s exceptional form in this tournament was pivotal in leading India to the semifinals. He scored 523 runs in seven matches, averaging an impressive 87.16 with two centuries and three fifties. Tendulkar’s 137-run innings was his best individual score in the tournament. India’s campaign ended in the semifinals, losing to Sri Lanka after a chaotic match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

1999 ICC Cricket World Cup

Although India did not progress to the semifinals, Tendulkar still managed to deliver strong performances, scoring 253 runs at an average of 42.16. His emotional 140* against Kenya, following his father’s demise, showcased his resilience and dedication. This innings remains one of his most memorable in World Cup history.

2003 ICC Cricket World Cup

Tendulkar’s explosive form throughout the tournament helped India reach the finals, where they lost to Australia. He scored an astounding 673 runs in 11 matches, with an average of 61.18. His batting included one century and six fifties, with a best score of 152. Despite India’s loss in the final, Tendulkar’s performance throughout the tournament remained remarkable.

2007 ICC Cricket World Cup

India experienced their worst World Cup outing, crashing out during the Group stages after losing to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Tendulkar scored only 64 runs in three matches, with a fifty against Bermuda. It was a disappointing event for the Indian team and Tendulkar alike.

2011 ICC Cricket World Cup

Tendulkar’s resurgence in this tournament was instrumental in helping India secure the World Cup title. He scored 482 runs at an average of 53.55, with two centuries and two fifties in nine matches. His critical contributions in the knockout stages included 53 against Australia in the quarterfinals and a majestic 85 against Pakistan in the semifinals.

1998 ICC Champions Trophy

Tendulkar played two matches, scoring 149 runs at an average of 74.50. His best score of 141 came against Australia, where he also took 4/38 in a thrilling bowling spell. India lost the semifinal against West Indies, but Tendulkar’s performance was commendable.

India finished as runners-up to New Zealand in this tournament. Tendulkar scored 171 runs in four matches, averaging 42.75, with one half-century. He was the fourth-highest run-scorer in the event and played crucial knocks in the knockout stages.
