Abu Dhabi T10: Morrisville Samp Army Edge Delhi Bulls, Bangla Tigers secure second consecutive victory against the Northern Warriors

In a nail-biting clash at the Zayed Cricket Stadium, Morrisville Samp Army secured a narrow three-run victory over the Delhi Bulls in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 league on Tuesday. Charith Asalanka’s explosive innings and a disciplined bowling effort proved crucial in the tightly contested game.

On a slow-turning track, the Samp Army capitalized on Delhi Bulls’ fielding lapses, with Asalanka smashing a 25-ball 51 to help his side post a competitive total of 112/5 in their allotted 10 overs. Despite dropped catches, the Bulls struggled to contain the left-hander’s fiery knock.

The Bulls’ chase started positively, with Tom Banton blazing 25 runs off just 11 balls. However, the tide turned when Mohammad Zahid bowled Banton with his very first delivery. Zahid, along with Qais Ahmad and Karim Janat, applied pressure with tight overs, limiting the Bulls’ momentum. Tim David then reignited hopes for Delhi with a late surge.

In a dramatic final over, Zahid bowled two wides, bringing the game down to the wire. With five runs needed off the last ball, David’s dismissal by a run-out sealed Morrisville’s win by the slimmest of margins.

Bangla Tigers Dominate with Zazai and Shahzad’s Explosive Opening Partnership

In the other match, the Bangla Tigers secured their second consecutive victory in emphatic fashion, chasing down 108 runs without losing a wicket against the Northern Warriors. Afghanistan’s Hazratullah Zazai and Mohammad Shahzad put on a batting masterclass, reaching the target in just 7.5 overs.

The Afghan duo started cautiously before launching an all-out assault, collectively smashing 11 fours and 7 sixes. Their unbeaten stand ensured the Tigers cruised to victory with ease.

Earlier, the Warriors were restricted to 107/5, thanks to an economical spell from star spinner Rashid Khan, who picked up 2/11 in his two overs. Iftikhar Ahmed also contributed with two key wickets, conceding only 18 runs in his spell.
