Australia has announced its 13-member squads for the upcoming ODI series against India and New Zealand, scheduled between December 5 and December 23. Notably, skipper Alyssa Healy will miss the series against India as she continues her recovery from a knee injury, though she is expected to be fit for the New Zealand leg later in the month.

In Healy’s absence, Tahlia McGrath will lead the team against India, with strong support from Ash Gardner, who has emerged as a key leader within the squad. Speaking about the decision, Cricket Australia’s Head of Performance (women’s cricket) and national selector, Shawn Flegler, said, “The decision for Alyssa to miss the India series was made with a longer-term view to the Ashes. Her availability for the New Zealand series will become clearer in the coming weeks.
Queensland batter Georgia Voll, 21, has been called up to the India series squad for the first time. Voll has been among the top three run-scorers in the ongoing Women’s Big Bash League and the Women’s National Cricket League, registering four half-centuries across both tournaments.
“Georgia has had a strong start to the summer and has shown her potential over several years,” said Flegler. “She will form an exciting partnership with Phoebe Litchfield at the top of the order, providing her with a great opportunity to experience international cricket against a strong Indian side.”
Australia also provided updates on injured players Sophie Molineux, Darcie Brown, and Tayla Vlaeminck. Both Molineux and Brown are on track for a return and will be available for the series. Molineux, recovering from knee soreness, will have her condition monitored throughout the summer. Brown has resumed training following a hip muscle strain.
However, Tayla Vlaeminck remains unavailable for the 2024/25 season as she continues to rehabilitate after shoulder stabilization surgery. “Tayla underwent right shoulder stabilization surgery last week and is unavailable for the remainder of the season,” said Australian Women’s Team Physiotherapist Kate Beerworth.
All six ODIs across the two series are part of the ICC Women’s Championship, with Australia currently leading the table with 28 points. India sits in third place, while New Zealand is in sixth and yet to qualify for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, set to be held in India.
Australia will begin their campaign with a three-match series against India in early December, followed by three ODIs in New Zealand later in the month.
