
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of ₹5 crore for the India U19 Women’s team following their victorious campaign at the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 in Malaysia. The announcement came as the team successfully defended their title with a dominant nine-wicket win over South Africa in the final at Bayuemas Oval.
Led by captain Niki Prasad, India remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, displaying exceptional skill and composure. Their fearless approach and clinical performances ensured back-to-back World Cup triumphs, cementing their dominance on the global stage. To recognize this remarkable achievement, the BCCI extended its congratulations to the squad and support staff, led by Head Coach Nooshin Al Khadeer.

Several standout performances played a crucial role in India’s title defense. G. Trisha emerged as the tournament’s highest run-scorer with 309 runs and was named both the Player of the Match in the final and the Player of the Tournament. She also contributed with the ball, taking seven wickets. Meanwhile, spinners Vaishnavi Sharma and Aayushi Shukla dominated the bowling charts with 17 and 14 wickets, respectively.
BCCI President Roger Binny praised the young team for their flawless campaign, highlighting how their performances showcased the growth of women’s cricket in India. He expressed pride in their consistency and dedication, calling the win a reflection of the country’s strong grassroots cricket structure. Treasurer Prabhtej Singh Bhatia echoed similar sentiments, describing the title defense as a rare and commendable achievement. India’s success in the 2025 edition follows their historic win in 2023, further solidifying the strength of the country’s women’s cricket system.
