
The Naman Awards 2025, hosted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in Mumbai, celebrated some of the most outstanding performers in Indian cricket. Legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar, India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, former off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, and star opener Smriti Mandhana were among the notable awardees at this prestigious event.

Tendulkar was honored with the Col. C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his unparalleled 24-year career that saw him accumulate 100 international centuries and 34,357 runs. His impact on the game transcended records, shaping Indian cricket into a global powerhouse. From debuting as a 16-year-old prodigy to becoming the first player to score a double century in ODIs and playing a record 200 Test matches, his journey remains an inspiration.

Jasprit Bumrah received the Polly Umrigar Award for Best International Cricketer (Men) for the third time, following his outstanding performances in 2024. The top-ranked Test bowler claimed 71 wickets in 13 matches, the highest by any bowler in the year. His heroics in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, where he picked up 15 wickets at a remarkable average of 8.26, earned him the Player of the Tournament award.
Smriti Mandhana was named Best International Cricketer (Women) for the fourth time. The Indian vice-captain had a stellar year, scoring 747 ODI runs at an average of 57.46, with centuries against New Zealand, Australia, and two consecutive tons against South Africa. She also registered her second Test hundred against South Africa in Chennai and showcased her consistency in T20Is with 763 runs across 21 innings, including eight fifties.
Ravichandran Ashwin, who announced his international retirement after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, was recognized with a Special BCCI Award for his illustrious career. As one of India’s greatest spinners, he retired with 537 Test wickets, 156 ODI wickets, and over 3,500 Test runs, cementing his legacy as an all-time great.
Sarfaraz Khan was named Best International Debut (Men) after making an immediate impact in his maiden Test series against England. He began his career with back-to-back half-centuries and later scored a crucial 150 against New Zealand. His performances have set the stage for what promises to be a promising international career.
The Mumbai Cricket Association was recognized for the Best Performance in BCCI Domestic Tournaments after a dominant season, winning the Ranji Trophy for a record 42nd time, alongside titles in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, Vijay Merchant Trophy, and Women’s U19 One Day Trophy.
