LSG started strong in their pursuit of a massive 218-run target, with Mayers picking up where he left off in the previous match and KL Rahul providing support. Mayers quickly racked up runs against Ben Stokes and Deepak Chahar, propelling LSG past the 50-run mark in just 3.5 overs. Mayers continued his assault, reaching his second consecutive fifty in just 21 balls.

However, Moeen Ali broke through the onslaught, dismissing Mayers for 53 off 22 balls. Wickets began to fall at a steady pace, with Mitchell Santner and Ali taking crucial scalps. Nicholas Pooran and Marcus Stoinis attempted to rebuild, but Ali continued his rampage, eventually taking 4/26 in his four overs.

Despite a valiant effort, LSG ended their innings at 205/7, falling short by 12 runs. Earlier, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway’s century stand propelled CSK to an imposing 217/7 in 20 overs. Gaikwad scored his second successive half-century, while Conway provided valuable support.
