Hardik Pandya took to Instagram to share a heartwarming post after leading Gujarat Titans to victory over Krunal Pandya’s Lucknow Super Giants. The post featured a collage of two pictures, one from their pre-fame days and the other from the match where the duo made history by becoming the first siblings to lead IPL teams during a single match.

Hardik captioned the post, “Just two young boys from Baroda who never gave up on their dreams.”

During the toss, Hardik expressed that the game was an emotional moment for him and his brother, and their father would have been proud.

“It is an emotional day; our father would have been proud. This is something happening for the first time, so our family is proud. One Pandya will definitely win today,” said Hardik.

After the toss, GT were put to bat first and had an outstanding start, with openers Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill hitting centuries for fun. Saha’s quickfire half-century was the fastest by a GT batter, and the team ended their innings at 227/2, with Gill unbeaten at 94 off 51 balls. Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan took a wicket each for LSG. In chase of the mammoth target, LSG got off to a great start, but after Kyle Mayers’ dismissal, GT took control, and a spell of 4/29 in four overs by Mohit Sharma helped GT clinch a 56-run win.

After the game, Krunal expressed that both brothers leading their respective teams was a moment of pride for their family, and at the end of the day, points were coming home.

“God has been kind to us, our family is proud, Mom is happy. She said at the end of the day, two points will come home only. There is so much love between me and Hardik, there’s hardly any banter. I can tell him about that (the catch), definitely,” he added.

Both LSG and GT have been doing good at IPL 2023 according to latest IPL points table analysis after Match 52 on Sunday. Gujarat Titans (GT) are ranked at number 1 and has 99.5% Playoff Chances after 11 games. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), on the other hand, are placed at 3rd position and has 45% Playoff Chances.
