
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed the official team of match officials for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final between India and New Zealand. The highly anticipated clash will take place at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, starting at 1:00 pm GST.
Veteran umpires Paul Reiffel and Richard Illingworth have been appointed as the on-field umpires for this marquee event. Joel Wilson will serve as the third umpire, while Kumar Dharmasena has been designated as the fourth umpire. The match referee for this significant clash is Ranjan Madugalle.

Both Reiffel and Illingworth have vast experience officiating high-profile matches. Reiffel recently officiated in the semi-final between South Africa and New Zealand in Lahore. Illingworth, named ICC Umpire of the Year four times, was one of the on-field umpires in the other semi-final held in Dubai, where India overcame Australia. He also officiated in the finals of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, making him a highly experienced choice for this crucial encounter.
India reached the final after defeating Australia by four wickets in a thrilling semi-final match. On the other side, New Zealand secured their spot by defeating South Africa convincingly by 50 runs in a high-scoring match, continuing South Africa’s unfortunate trend in knockout stages.
This final marks the second Champions Trophy title clash between India and New Zealand. The previous encounter took place back in 2000, in which New Zealand emerged victorious.
Interestingly, India and New Zealand also faced each other during the group stage in this edition, with India winning the match by 44 runs.
