
James Anderson’s incredible career continues to soar to unprecedented heights. He has surpassed both Australian captain Pat Cummins and Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin to claim the top spot as the number one ranked bowler in the latest ICC Men’s Test Rankings.

With his seven-wicket haul for England during their decisive 267-run triumph over New Zealand in Mount Maunganui, James Anderson once again rises to the top spot of the Test rankings. The evergreen 40-year-old has ended Pat Cummins’ four-year tenure as the number one ranked Test bowler. This is the sixth occasion that Anderson has held this prestigious title. He initially claimed the premier position back in May 2016 by surpassing his teammate Stuart Broad and India’s Ashwin. Anderson has enjoyed a distinguished international career that dates all the way back to 2003.
The Indian cricket team has witnessed some exceptional performances in the ongoing series against Australia. All rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been impressive with both bat and ball in the first two Tests and has now entered the top 10 of the ICC Test bowler rankings.
At the same time, Ravichandran Ashwin, the right-arm off-spinner, has made significant progress, climbing up to the second spot in the rankings. Axar Patel has also been rewarded for his exceptional performance in the series. With 158 runs, he has emerged as the second-highest run-scorer and has advanced two places to secure the fifth spot in the latest Test all-rounder rankings.
Jadeja leads the Test all-rounder rankings with 460 rating points. He has also been impressive with the bat, scoring 96 runs in the two innings played so far in the Border-Gavaskar series.
Ravichandran Ashwin has secured the second spot on the rankings with 376 rating points.
