India vs Pakistan Cricket World Cup match likely at world’s largest stadium

Cricket fans all over the world can hardly wait for the 2023 Cricket World Cup, set to kick off on October 5th. The buzz around the event is especially high due to the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan match. According to The Indian Express, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has a list of potential venues for the tournament, which includes Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Bengaluru, Trivandrum, Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Rajkot, Indore, Bengaluru, Dharamshala, and Chennai.

One of the highlights of the tournament will be the India vs Pakistan clash, which is likely to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This would be the first time since 2016 that the two arch-rivals face each other on Indian soil. The Narendra Modi Stadium, which was formerly known as the Sardar Patel Stadium and Motera Stadium, can be found in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Not only is it a significant landmark, but it also boasts the title of the world’s largest stadium by capacity. The Gujarat Cricket Association proudly owns and operates this remarkable venue.

The Indian Express also reports that Pakistan’s matches could mostly be held in Chennai and Bengaluru due to security reasons, while Kolkata’s Eden Gardens remains a possibility. As for Bangladesh, they might play the majority of their matches in Kolkata and Guwahati, making it easier for fans from the neighboring country to attend the games.

For India’s league matches, the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai is a potential candidate to host the India vs Australia game. Other matches against New Zealand, England, and South Africa are expected to be held at venues with slow pitches, giving India a home advantage. The Indian team has a strong track record on slow tracks and has requested that matches against top teams take place on such pitches.

India and Pakistan have never played against each other in a Cricket World Cup match held in India. The two teams have faced each other in several World Cup matches, but all of them took place in neutral venues or in Pakistan.

As the excitement continues to build, fans eagerly await the BCCI’s grand launch event after IPL 2023, where the World Cup schedule will be announced. The India vs Pakistan match promises to be a thrilling showdown, and the entire Cricket World Cup is sure to offer plenty of unforgettable moments.
