Punjab Kings’ bowler Kagiso Rabada set a new Indian Premier League (IPL) record by becoming the fastest player to claim 100 wickets in terms of matches played.

This milestone was achieved during the game against Gujarat Titans at the IS Bindra Stadium, where Rabada took his 100th wicket by dismissing Wriddhiman Saha in the 5th over.
The right-arm fast bowler reached this impressive landmark in his 64th IPL match, outperforming Lasith Malinga, who took 70 matches to accomplish the same feat.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar holds the title of the fastest Indian and third fastest overall to reach 100 IPL wickets. Rashid Khan, Amit Mishra, and Ashish Nehra are tied for fourth place (83 matches), with Yuzvendra Chahal (84) completing the top five.
During just 64 IPL matches, Kagiso Rabada has delivered various match-winning performances for his team securing wins at various occasions. Here’s a look at some of those performances:
- 4/21 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) – IPL 2020: Rabada delivered a match-winning performance, taking four wickets and giving away just 21 runs in his four overs.

- 4/25 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) – IPL 2019: In this match, Rabada picked up four wickets for 25 runs in his four overs, playing a crucial role in securing a win for his team.
- 4/29 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) – IPL 2017: Rabada’s excellent bowling performance resulted in four wickets while allowing just 29 runs in his full quota of four overs.
