England all-rounder Moeen Ali has officially signed with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. The seasoned cricketer was secured by the Kolkata-based franchise at his base price of Rs 2 crore during the recently concluded IPL 2025 mega-auction.
In a heartfelt video shared on KKR’s X (formerly Twitter) handle, Moeen conveyed his excitement about joining the team. “Hi guys, really excited to be joining KKR. The family, the team, the environment, it’s an amazing place to play, I know. I want to say thank you to Bravo and all the staff for showing trust in me and hopefully, I can perform when I get a chance. And lastly, Ami KKR,” Moeen stated, reflecting his enthusiasm and gratitude.

Moeen Ali brings a wealth of experience to KKR, having featured in 67 IPL matches to date. Throughout his IPL career, he has taken 35 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 7.07, while also contributing 1,162 runs with the bat at a strike rate of 141.53. These statistics underscore his dual capability as both a reliable bowler and a dynamic batsman.
In the previous IPL season, Moeen participated in eight matches, scoring 128 runs at a strike rate of 130.61. However, his bowling saw him take only two wickets with an economy rate of 8.88 and an average of 35.50. Despite the modest bowling figures last season, Moeen’s overall contributions and experience remain valuable assets for KKR.
