The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has honored Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers by inducting them into the RCB Hall of Fame and retiring their jerseys, number 17 and 333 respectively today.

This event took place during RCB Unbox 2.0, a celebration for the team’s loyal fans, who returned to M Chinnaswamy Stadium after a three-year absence.

In a first-of-its-kind initiative in T20, fans were allowed to watch the full RCB squad practice, along with RCB brand launches and the return of Gayle and de Villiers. Both players expressed their gratitude for being inducted into the Hall of Fame and reminisced about their time at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The event was also covered by our team at IPL Live tracker with photos and videos shared by fans from inside the stadium.

The packed stadium featured live performances by Sonu Nigam and Jason Derulo, followed by the arrival of Virat Kohli, Faf Du Plessis, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle, who were greeted with roaring applause and the iconic RCB chant. RCB’s captain, Faf du Plessis, expressed excitement for welcoming fans back to the stadium and the energetic atmosphere they brought.

The RCB team will kick off their 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season with a match against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at their home ground, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
