Eagle Thane Strikers produced one of the most dominant performances of the opening day of the T20 Mumbai League 2026, defeating Bandra Blasters by nine wickets at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday.

Chasing a challenging target of 190, the Strikers turned the contest into a one-sided affair thanks to a spectacular batting display from Shashwat Jagtap and Impact Player Sumeir Zaveri.

The opening pair launched a relentless assault on the Bandra bowling attack from the outset, racing to 93 runs during the Powerplay and putting the chase firmly under their control. Both batters reached their half-centuries at a rapid pace as the scoreboard continued to move quickly.

Their match-winning opening partnership was worth 155 runs before Zaveri was dismissed after a brilliant 80 from just 36 deliveries. His explosive innings included 11 fours and four sixes and laid the foundation for a comfortable victory.

Jagtap continued his outstanding knock and remained unbeaten until the end. The right-hander completed a magnificent century from only 50 balls and guided his side to 194/1 in just 15.2 overs, sealing victory with plenty of time to spare.

Earlier, Bandra Blasters recovered from a difficult start to post 189/9 in their 20 overs. Eagle Thane Strikers skipper Shardul Thakur struck early by dismissing Prateekkumar Ravishankar without scoring.

Captain Suved Parkar made 30 runs while Parag Khanapurkar contributed 16 during a 45-run partnership that steadied the innings. However, Bandra suffered a setback when Khanapurkar was run out after a mix-up.

Atharva Ankolekar further dented the batting line-up by claiming two wickets in successive deliveries. Dhrumil Matkar then provided valuable late momentum with an unbeaten 28 off 17 balls to help the Blasters reach a competitive total.

Jay Jain top-scored with 45 runs, while Om Keshkamat added 40. For the Strikers, Onkar Tarmale was the standout bowler with figures of 3/28, while Ankolekar picked up 2/34.
