South Africa has announced a full-strength 15-member squad for their final two ICC Cricket World Cup Super League matches against the Netherlands.

The top eight teams in the Super League standings will secure direct entry into the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

Currently ninth in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League standings with 78 points, the Proteas aim to overtake the West Indies, who hold eighth place with 88 points, by winning both matches against the Netherlands, each carrying 10 points.

Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada, who were rested for the recent ODI series against the West Indies, return as fast bowlers for the squad.

White-ball head coach Rob Walter expressed confidence in the selected players, stating, “We have named our strongest possible squad for these games given the importance of these matches in the context of qualifying for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.”

Enoch Nkwe, Director of Cricket, wished the team well and highlighted the annual Pink Day during the second match, which raises awareness and funds for an important cause.

The first ODI between South Africa and Netherlands is scheduled to take place in Benoni on March 31, while the second ODI will be held in Johannesburg on April 2.

South Africa is presently hosting an all-format series against the West Indies, winning the Test series 2-0 and tying the ODI series 1-1 after the first match was abandoned due to rain. The T20I series is also tied at 1-1, with the final match scheduled for Tuesday.
