USPL Day 4: Maryland Mavericks, New Jersey Titans Shine; Atlanta Blackcaps Bounce Back

Day 4 of the United States Premier League (USPL) Season 3 brought thrilling cricket action at Broward County Stadium in Florida, with the Maryland Mavericks, New Jersey Titans, and Atlanta Blackcaps delivering standout performances in a triple-header.

In the opening match, the Maryland Mavericks claimed a 22-run victory over the Carolina Golden Eagles. Maryland skipper Shubham Ranjane led the charge with a blistering 61 off 28 balls, helping his team post 165/4 in their 20 overs.

Chasing 166, the Golden Eagles struggled to keep up despite a steady partnership between Unmukt Chand and skipper Monank Patel. The slow scoring rate left them at 143/8, falling 22 runs short. Phani Simhadri’s exceptional bowling, with three wickets, earned him the ‘Player of the Match’ award.

The New Jersey Titans showcased their mettle in the second game, defeating the Carolina Eagles by 21 runs. Batting first, the Titans posted 173/9, with Hammad Azam playing a pivotal role with a gutsy 57 off 35 balls.

In response, the Eagles struggled to build momentum and were restricted to 152/9. Azam’s all-round contribution earned him the ‘Player of the Match’ accolade.

The Atlanta Blackcaps delivered a dominant performance in the final game of the day, bowling out the New York Cowboys for a meager 87. Nagash Basharat and Ali Sheikh each claimed three wickets, with Sheikh also contributing figures of 3/10.

The Blackcaps chased down the target in just 12 overs, securing a much-needed win. Ali Sheikh’s all-round effort earned him the ‘Player of the Match’ honor.
