History will be made on Saturday as the Women’s Premier League (WPL) kicks off in India, featuring some of the best players in franchise cricket. The tournament will begin at the DY Patil Stadium, with a highly anticipated match-up between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians.

Over the course of 23 days, there will be a total of 20 league matches and two playoff games.
Throughout the 22-game season, each of the five teams – Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and UP Warriorz – will face each other twice. Two semi-finals will then determine the top two teams, who will go on to compete in the championship game on March 27.
The league has attracted some of the best talents in the international and domestic circuit, with India’s Smriti Mandhana being the top buy, sold for a whopping Rs 3.40 crore to Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Sunday marks the first double-header day, with Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium, CCI, and UP Warriorz playing their first game of the league against Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium in the evening. All evening matches will start at 7:30 pm IST. The DY Patil Stadium and Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai will each host 11 matches.

The final game of the league stage will be played between UP Warriorz and Delhi Capitals on March 21 at the Brabourne Stadium. The Eliminator will then take place at the DY Patil Stadium on March 24. Finally, the Women’s Premier League 2023 will come to a thrilling conclusion with the final match at the Brabourne Stadium on March 26.
