Team India T20 Squad for West Indies Tour Announced with Hardik Pandya, Tilak Varma, Shubman Gill and Other in the Roster

The BCCI has announced the T20 squad that will represent the country in the upcoming five-match series against the West Indies starting from August 4. One of the major highlights of the announcement was the inclusion of Mumbai Indians batter Tilak Verma, who has received his maiden call-up to the Indian team.

Verma’s outstanding performances for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) have been rewarded with a spot in the national side. On the other hand, Rinku Singh who was one of the top run-scorers in this year’s IPL, has not being considered for selection.

Ajit Agarkar led the selection committee has also decided to recall Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, and Ravi Bishnoi for the West Indies series. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi also makes a comeback into the team, adding depth to the squad.

Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal who exhibited unstoppable form for their respective franchises, Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals, during the 16th season of the IPL are likely to open the batting for Team India.
